RFID Sensoren?

Hi,

great project, many thanks. I was working on this a while ago also with the rocrail community, but never got that far.

Have you considered RFID Sensors?
RFID reader on the train, RFID tags on the track, unique IDs to identify the sensor by rocrail.

In case that works relaible, this would improve deployment, since the RIFD tags on the tracks do not need any cabling.

Interesting idea but this would mean that every train needs a Mattzo controller. For me, as I’m using powered up trains, which don’t need Mattzo controllers on the train itself, this would not be an improvement.

thanks for your appreciation of the project.

Sure, we have considered using RFID, but the use cases are pretty rare and integrating them into Rocrail would require some significant and in-depth changes to the way we are handling Rocrail messages. We might tackle this in the future, but presently we do not have plans to support RFId.
