The layouts on this page have been designed with narrow gauge tracks from TrixBrix. The narrow gauge system is two studs smaller than the standard LEGO train system. Sleepers in the narrow gauge system are only 6 studs wide. TrixBrix offers six different narrow gauge radii (R24, R36, R48, R72, R84, R96), crossings, switches and a double crossover.

Narrow gauge tracks can be integrated into standard tracks with special rails, turnouts and slides. The principle of uniting the two gauges on a single track is called “dual gauge”.

Narrow gauge switches can be motorized with the same switch motors as standard gauge switches.

Narrow Gauge R84 Oval

This oval uses R84 und R96 Curves and R84 Switches.

Narrow Gauge R84 Loop

To build this R84 loop in a geometrically correct way, the second curve behind the peak of the left R84 switch must be a right R84 ballast curve.
