      Hi all,

I hooked up a MCP23017 port extender to the ESP chip and I have a problem receiving sensor feedback. The MCP chip is working since I also have LED’s connected to it which I can control through Rocrail. There is no issue with the sensors because I also have one directly to the ESP board that does work.
I’m checking for the sensor feedback in the serial monitor. As said, I do get a response for the sensor directly connected to the ESP board, but not for the ones connected to the MCP chip.
Has anybody tried this setup already and got it working?

I got some sensors working on the B-side now, on the A-side the reed-sensors didn’t work as they should

      Hi Luuk,

      Thanks for reporting your issues!

If I recall correctly I had similar issues back in October and November. For me the cause seemed to be the ESP8266 variant, which seemed to cause issues at the MCP23017 side. Another ESP8266 with the same MCP23017 board worked fine.

      Does this help? 🙂
